the neighbor’s pineapples

I love that the climate in South Florida supports the growth of tropical fruit – almost year-round. Here’s a pineapple plant I noticed in a neighbor’s front yard. I took a few photos (when it was green) on Aug. 12, which was 18 days ago. Today they’re turning a beautiful golden yellow. Not sure when it’ll be ready for harvest, but then again I won’t be harvesting them…
